Maxus T90 EV →
South Africa's first electric double cab went on sale in September 2023 at about R1.1 million. It offers 150kW, rear-wheel drive and a claimed 354km range, but a 1,000kg towing limit narrows its use case. Depreciation is steep, as with most early high-priced EVs.

Riddara RD6 →
Geely's electric double cab finally reached SA in mid-2026 through Enviro Automotive after repeated delays, with the single-motor Econ from R725,000 and a twin-motor version from R830,000. The 73 kWh battery gives a claimed 424 km range. It is the cheapest electric bakkie in the country, though local demand for EV bakkies is untested.
