JAC T8

JAC markets the T8 as South Africa's lowest-priced double cab, from R349,900 in 2026. It arrived in 2019 with a 1.9 TDI and later gained a 2.0 CTi engine and a facelift alongside the T9. Buyers get plenty of kit for the money, but trade-in values lag the established bakkie brands.

Salvador Caetano relaunched it in late 2025 with double cab pricing from R399,900 and a 4x4 auto at R499,900, making it one of the country's cheapest double cabs. Older examples trade very cheaply.
