Haval H6

Haval's family SUV has been sold here since late 2017, with the second generation from 2021 and a heavily updated model from mid 2025. It undercuts the Tucson and RAV4 while offering more power and kit, and the range now spans turbopetrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid power. Depreciation is steeper than the Japanese rivals but used examples are plentiful and cheap.

Known for: undercutting tucson and rav4 on price

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross

Launched locally in 2019 as a coupe-styled compact SUV, the Eclipse Cross uses a 1.5 turbo petrol with a CVT. South Africa still sells it new even after markets like Australia dropped it in 2025. Slow sales make used examples good value for buyers, though that same rarity means weak resale percentages.
