Changan's one-ton double cab landed in October 2025 from R449,900 for the 2.0T 2WD, topping out at R569,900 for the 4WD auto. A range-extender electric version arrived at just under R800,000, a first for the SA bakkie market. Workhorse credibility against Hilux and Ranger is still being established.

LDV T60 →
LDV entered SA in May 2024 with the T60 double cab, priced from R480,000 in 2026. Its 2.0 bi-turbo diesel offers up to 160kW and 500Nm, more than most rivals at the price, backed by a 5-year/200,000km warranty. The nameplate is well proven in Australia but too new here for firm resale data.
