Sold in South Africa from the mid-1990s, the Impreza built the brand's cult following through its turbocharged WRX and STI versions. Ordinary naturally aspirated models were always rare next to Toyota and VW rivals. The nameplate quietly left the local market around 2021, well after the WRX became a standalone model.
